Yes, B&W striped & chevron rugs are everywhere - so this thought is by no means original inspiration. However it is quite out of character given my tendencies towards beige, greige and maybe a little grey-green if feeling brave.

Madeline Weinrib - who unfortunately no longer has a distributer in Australia).
Have also spotted great examples at
Armadillo & Co (2x3m = $1,100) and more affordable ones at
Design and Retreat (2x3m grey stripe = $1,122) and Ikea (2x3m = $449).
As a way of putting my toe in the bold water of striped rugs, am thinking of getting one for the sun room in the New Home. Its floors are currently yellow-y stone which isn't that easy to work with and thinking the combination of B&W rug with a bamboo day bed with lots of green and white cushions might just work.
