INSPIRATION: VELVET OTTOMANS

Despite trying to make an effort to concentrate on one project at a time, I recently picked up this rather drab ottoman at HFOC, with the ambition of using it as a coffee table for our formal lounge (which at the moment is doing double duty as a store room for all the ebay purchases and paint samples).

I was inspired by some velvet ottomans I had recently seen - there is a lovely one in the Sambag boutique in the new Westfield in Sydney's CBD.  A lovely soft grey / blue colour. Kind of like this one here, but in an ottoman shape.

I also spied this one in a recent edition of Inside Out.  Love the pink and black - though not quite right for my greige / green colour scheme. But I think the piping works well - something to consider?
