INSPIRATION: PINE FLOOR BOARDS

A lot of the images I have "cut out"  along the way have very dark floor boards against off-white walls. However the New Home has pine floor boards throughout (as does the Old Home). The downstairs boards are the original wide Kauri Pine boards. So I would not consider re-staining them given they are the real deal. So that means I need to work with their more yellow / gold tones.

Recently I have been on the hunt for pictures of great interiors which happen to have pine floor boards.

Firstly the great article in recent issue of Rue - about Andy Beers and his collection of mid century furniture. The pine floors look great with the mid century furniture.

Next, the very charming Emerson Farm as featured in High Street Market.

And a few unreferenced (sorry) photos from my searches. Navy and neutrals clearly work well. So do more casual and vintage interiors (good news). What I am not sure is how they well they work with greys and more polished shiny interiors like the one I blogged about here.
