INSPIRATION: HAMPTONS HOUSE IN VL

And in a complete 180 degrees from the fabulous retro style of Olive and Joy (here), this Hamptons home featured in last months' Vogue Living is equally inspiring. Puts shame to all the hideous "faux Hamptons" style mass-produced stuff you see out and about.

I really love this bedroom setting with the large painted bedside drawers. Inspiration  for another project in the pipeline.....

And this rustic wooden table covered in small pot plants.

I am not entirely sure I will ever work out how to blend a rustic antiques with mid century retro, but in the meantime, the closest I might get to this Hamptons look, are our hydrangea bushes in the front yard (thanks Mrs B for pruning so well on the weekend we moved in - it clearly did them wonders!).
