BEFORE: THE LIVING ROOM

The first room I am tackling is the room that will be our living area. It was set up as the formal dining room for the sale campaign - but it will be far more useful as a TV watching space!

The room comprises a large-ish, currently very maroon space,

 plus a much smaller room connected with large dark wood doors which will become a study / library space:

 The smaller room opens into a paved courtyard.

At present the larger room contains our old Ikea couch which looks (even more) decrepit and lost in the space, our industrial TV stand and the new sisal rug (and heater!). 

Clearly the first point of order is to de-maroon. The hunt for the perfect white is a whole other topic. In due course we also need a new couch but my first hunt is for one or two retro-inspired armchairs.
